Welcome to Rosses Point, a seafaring village, five miles from Sligo Town, on the North West Coast of Ireland.

You are sailing on a fair wind to the home of sailors and shantymen, a world where the past and the present live together. The great ships of the Spanish Armada sailed in here, and many were wrecked, and our Wild Geese sailed out across the wild Atlantic Ocean. Now you are sailing home.

Your ship has already passed Inishmurray Island, Ben Bulben Mountain and Knocknarea are in sight, and so too is Sligo Bay, the nearest neighbour to New York City on these shores.

On the last leg of your voyage home your pilot is Austie Gillen. He will guide you past the Black Rock Lighthouse, Dead Man's Point and the Metal Man, where you'll be met by the Sligo Bay lifeboat and guided to a safe anchorage in Memory Harbour.

We will visit the childhood home of William Butler Yeats and his brother, Jack, pick mussels on the shores of Oyster Island and sail to Coney Island, where St. Patrick sat in the Wishing Chair.

There are mackerel and pollock in the bay, salmon and trout in the river, and for the more energetic, try Sligo Yacht Club at Dead Man's Point, a round of golf on our championship eighteen-hole course or racing at Bowmore.

Whether you stay in the Yeats Country Hotel, or a simple bed and breakfast, you will receive a warm welcome from the people whose stories, poems and songs you are about to hear. Our village also boasts a very fine selection of renowned restaurants for your dining pleasures.

And as the sun goes down, you will sit at the Captain's Table in Austie's Pub, the Elsinore, drink pints of Guinness and meet others who have made the voyage home and listen to tales of the village they call Tír Na nÓg, the land where nobody ever grows old.
