You've done a lovely job of it. I haven't a single Irish ancestor (my family comes from

website on the Rosses. The pictures, stories and poems as well as the history are
wonderful. I was actually in Austie's last week, and sat at the Captain's table with my
friends Frances, Paddy, Joe, Marie and Frank. Frank Kilgallen and myself had a meal in the
restaurant looking out over the views in Gallery 1. To be reminded again of all its beauty

who opened an ice-cream parlour in Grattan Street Slego in 1896. He married two times, the
first to Mary Bowls and later to Agnes Fellowes. I think he later went to New Jersey

Message: Do you know, MetalMan, I have been wondering about the states of mind of
some of the visitors to this humble site and the utter gibberish they write in the
guestbook for quite a while now. For instance, the "mouse in the cave" or
"metalmouse" or whatever frequently comes out with the strangest ráméis I have
ever seen, heard or read. Now, I'm sure he/she's a fine person in general and I actually
have nothing against nor take offence to any of the postings but.....PARDON!?!?! There
aren't too many in this particular volume but go back a few and you'll see what I mean.
And it isn't confined to this mouse character either, in fact most of his are downright
mild compared to some of the other blithering drivel committed to binary on this book. I
get the feeling there's a sheebeen that they all frequent somewhere with a permanent
Internet connection!

Message: I am a first generation American Gillen. My dad, John, was born in Sligo
in 1895. He was the son of Michael Gillen and Mary Anne Smith. His father was drowned at
sea in the early 1900s, while aboard the Sligo Sligo. My grandmother was a midwife and was
