I have sent all of our reidents of the E A FitzPAtrick Asylum for Widowed and Orphaned Men & politicans to the Adirondacks. The boat we had intended to use to visit to Coney Island was repossesed by the Annesbacker *ankers!! We have letters from Lowry and Burke seeking admission, but, unless they can obtain references from those famous Sligonians, Basher Williams, Gangster Reynolds, Killargue Pat and Jew Palmer they haven't a hope. We are having a big party here next month when Foley visits from Australia, he is having a big Yeats do in Chestetown, New York state. He is going to bring us some kangaroo meat, what you call a hopping steak!

Message: Looking at the photographs of this island this is a great idea, to tell what you know about an island which is obviously disappearing. This is what we should do about things or places in our lives. I wish I had listened to what my dad once tried to tell me of my family's past from Wales and Ireland and England; but as a young person I didn't want to listen as I thought I knew all of the answers. Now I know differently and those stories are forever gone as he died some years ago. Oh the lessons we learn with time!!!!!! People, who have ties with this area, will one day thank you for what you are sharing online.

You can keep posting foul-mouthed rubbish like that till the cows come home but rest assured that I will be right behind you removing it! Hope you are all keeping well otherwise. Seagull, that message in Spanish was from Brazil not Basil! Great weekend on Coney Island this weekend past. Sailing races and rowing races and lots of people, guinness, chowder, mackerel, wine, songs, slagging, messing, dressing-up, and all round good natured craic! Next weekend (the 18th and 19th) is the "Go-As-You-Please" and the Maugherow Cup. Both events to be held at the pier in Rosses Point. See you all there! Ciaran

Joe Carter'll have his toolbag of harmonicas and a fine seisún will ensue later in Hacketts! Message: Alas Mr. O'Kelly, Mrs. Ena Ewing passed away last December. A great loss to the community of Rosses Point. And Maeve, I'm sure the village would be honoured to have such a fine specimen of royalty such as yourself along to get the boys rowing on Saturday! I forgot to mention as well that this weekend is Ladies Cup weekend at Sligo Yacht Club. For those who don't know what this is, the Ladies Cup is the oldest trophy in the world that is still raced for in sailing. It was presented to the Lough Gill Sailing Club by the ladies of Sligo in eighteen twenty-something, I forget the exact year. LGSC eventually became Sligo YC when they decided it'd be a lot more fun to race on the sea! Some of you who might know more details than I can feel free to pull me up on my facts if I've gotten anything wrong.
