We dropped them off at the bus stop on Monday July 15. We cannot take any more asylum seekers from Ireland at the moment. The Clintons moved into an office in HArlem and you guessed it we are over run with refugees from there. Buddy can you spare a dime is the call and the answer here...... Message: Hi all. On a somewhat sober note this fine Moday morning, Mrs. Margaret Doherty, mother of John and Anne-Marie who have the shop in Rosses Point, passed away over the weekend. The Go-As-You-Please and Maugherow Cup has been postponed until next weekend as a mark of respect. The funeral will take place today in Rosses Point. And on a lighter note, the Ladies Cup was won yesterday (Sunday) by Patrick Carter and Stewart Greer and their crew on the yacht 'Santhia'. The Elsie Trophy, which is another cup raced for under a different handicap system, was won by John Buckley and his crew on 'Lightspeed'. Congratulations and well done to them all.

Message: Meself and the brother-in-law are off to the launch of the Jazz Lads new CD. We have to send a CD to Foley in Australia. He remembers the Cleffonaires when Michael Burns was playing with them and Noel Morrison RIP was their roadie and drove the blue Ford minibus which they traed for a Morris J2 minibus and it all done up with musical symbols. Metal Man says that they played in the Elsinore, somehow I have me doubts on that. We were wondering how Joe Burgess got that top job . . and not a brown paper bag in sight eh! How come Henry and Mullaney are Cross about the new Aclare bus service? We did badly playing atTubber golf club for the Saab. we lost our balls, shocking was all MM said. I'm getting the ould engine fixed up for the Maugherow Cup on Sunday. See you all there!

The go-as-you-please was won by John Devaney with Darryl Ewing rowing, and on Sunday the Maugherow Cup was won by a bunch of women in an Achill yawl, the 'Scoitín'. Kieran Devaney had a pan-Rosses Point crew. There was Eithne Carter at the helm representing Coney, Kieran as ballast representing the village and Frank Kilgallon representing the Lower Rosses as more ballast. They managed to come 7th out of 14. Oh well. Maybe next year Kieran!

Message: Well I never, we met Foley at the E A FitzPatrick Asylum for Widowed and Orphaned men last night Sunday, and if you ever heard of the Hooley at Finan's Hose, then this was it. Begobs beer was flowing and Ma Finan cooked us all a beautiful roast dinner complete with the best Bisto gravy I ever tasted. Who should arrive only Liam Tymon and his missus complete with inlaws and outlaws and a new grandson Connor, at least I think that was his name. The oul' drink is getting to me now at this stage. Some other fellow came in and asked us if we knew The Shark Roddy Gillen from Sligo, muttered something about buying a seconhand Lucan ice cream van from him in 1957.

Don't ever change.
